BioInnovation Wales launches new Podcast

BioInnovation Wales offers distance learning courses to those looking to up-skill or simply learn more about a new subject. Training is delivered on-line with optional workshops, where appropriate, and courses can be taken as CPD or built towards a range of postgraduate qualifications.

Modules are all focused around the circular economy, with a number of these centered around food and drink production and processing. The project is a partnership between Aberystwyth and Swansea Universities and has been supported by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.

To help raise awareness of the training courses available, BioInnovation Wales has launched a new Podcast series and the first two episodes are available below.

Can the Welsh dairy, beef and sheep sectors be sustainable?

Listen to “Can the Welsh dairy, beef and sheep sectors be sustainable?” on Spreaker.
Dr Neil MacKintosh of Aberystwyth University explains what is meant by sustainability and how the Welsh food industry might have to change in the future. He also talks about the distance learning opportunities through BioInnovation Wales and, in particular, the module on Sustainable Supply Systems.

Plastic Packaging: Problems, Progress and Prospects

Listen to “Plastic Packaging: Problems, Progress and Prospects” on Spreaker.
Dr Mathew Jones of Aberystwyth University talks about the pros and cons of plastics and their use in the packaging industry. He also shares details of the Future of Packaging distance learning module offered through BioInnovation Wales.
